As Product & Design Manager at Heal’s, I was invited to speak at PechaKucha London (Vol. 11), a lively event where each speaker presents 20 slides for just 20 seconds each — a fast-paced, visual storytelling format originally devised in Japan to keep presentations concise and engaging.
In my talk, I explored the evolution of bedroom furniture at Heal’s, tracing over 200 years of design — from handcrafted four-poster beds and military campaign sets to post-war innovation and contemporary modular styles. It was a chance to showcase how shifts in culture, craftsmanship, and customer needs have shaped the way we design, make, and live with furniture.
